August 14: Next Leg of Our Iowa Travels

Today we moved from Jon's to Jamie's and another set of experiences with grandchildren.  Henry and Zoe seemed thrilled to see us even though they had just gotten back from a week away from Mama and Papa.  They were with their other grandparents fishing, playing, and having a great time, but they were away from home, so.....

After lunch we went to a playground that they had visited before.  Zoe had drawn several pictures of the park so we would know something about it before we went. Afterwards, we had ice cream at 4 Queens where Henry let us know that NO ONE, not even is beloved sister was allowed to mess with his ice cream.

After supper we squeezed in one more activity and did some miniature golfing this evening.  Henry is 2 in September, but he definitely had the gist of the game.  He tried his club at every hole, but then generously picked up each person's incoming ball and handed it to them.  The adults made the most of it, but Zoe was a little more serious about the game and told him repeatedly to "Stay away from my ball."  I am certain he really did have the best time of all.  We also spent a lot of time singing and dancing. Henry loves doing "Ring Around the Rosy" and singing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm".

Tomorrow we will be visiting a few quilt shops and then if time permits, Jamie and I are going to do some work with the embroidery machine I gave her.  Also plan to make a stop to pick up more rooster fabric to make Aleah napkins to match her valance.
