We are in Waterloo, IA, and kicking back on the first leg of grandchildren/ kid visiting. We spent the night in a hotel, and then arrived at Jon's to hang out for a few days. Dean is very creative and works with his imagination to turn things he has into something that one does not suspect. He is posed next to his "cake" creation. It is made of bugs, stuffed animals, dinosaurs and other plastic animals. He wanted to know if I loved the colors.
We went to Pizza Ranch for lunch and then we went to Joann's to purchase some fabric and afterwards we went to Lowe's for other needed materials. Try to imagine this scene: We had 3 children (ages 1, 2, and 3) loaded in individual shopping carts. Bryson was Grandpa's boy. Anna was with her parents. Dean and I were exploring paint chips and all the tools that we could see. It was a unique experience that even now is making me smile.
Kevin is going to have the opportunity to help with some more home remodeling and maintenance with Jon. Considering that we will be gone for more than a year, we are really happy to be able to help. Both of us prefer to have some kind of structure, so this is wonderful.
They are doing a face lift to the kitchen and using lots of chicken accessories, so this fabric is perfect for the valance I am going to sew tomorrow.
